SAMPLE - BRINEBERRY

The Brineberry colorway is available in formats for use as countertop, backsplash, and small format slab at 3/8" and 3/4". Each sample order includes one 4" x 4" sample, at 3/4" thickness.  

The Brineberry colorway is part of the Urchinite Big River Collection, made with purple sea urchins harvested from Big River in Mendocino, California at The Nature Conservancy's kelp restoration site. Brineberry has faint lavender and light grey hues from the natural biocalcite minerals in purple sea urchin shells, with no added pigments, and is lightly speckled with flecks of urchin spine for a subtly textured finish. It has a modern aesthetic with tactile hints of its natural marine origin.

The Brineberry colorway has a medium high restoration impact:

• 3/8" thick slabs & wall tiles: 1 sqft of Urchinite  = 16 sqft of purple urchins are harvested for kelp recovery. 
• 3/4" thick slabs: 1 sqft of Urchinite = 33 sqft of purple urchins are harvested for kelp recovery. 

Handcrafted in California and made with biocalcites, a natural mineral derived from purple sea urchin shells that are harvested seasonally from kelp restoration sites. Due to the seasonal nature of sea urchin harvests, availability is limited and each piece has a distinct origin from season-to-season. Color and pattern variation is inherent to the material and unique to each piece. Finished products may differ from the images shown.
