Take Back Program
Giving Every Material a Longer Life
At MARBLIS™, we believe the built environment can be a force for ecological restoration. Our architectural surfaces transform overabundant purple sea urchin shells into high-performance biocalcite surfaces that supports the restoration of California's kelp forests. Every sample represents the same philosophy: materials should be designed with their entire lifecycle in mind.
The Sample Takeback Program is part of our commitment to circular material stewardship. By recovering architectural samples after they have served their purpose, we can maximize the value of the materials we create while minimizing unnecessary waste.
How the Program Works
Customers are encouraged to return eligible MARBLIS product samples and packaging that are no longer needed for specification, design evaluation, or display. Returned samples are assessed by our team and re-directed toward the highest-value next use.
Depending on their condition, returned samples may be:
- Refurbished and recirculated for future design consultations or material evaluations.
- Repurposed for research, product development, educational programs, or exhibitions.
- Recycled into future material development streams where technically feasible.
- Responsibly managed at end of life when reuse or recovery is not possible.
Sample Return Process
Returning your Sample Box is free and convenient, simply follow the instructions below:
- Log in or create an account: https://themarblis.com/account/login
- Select eligible items for return and click submit.
- A prepaid shipping label will be sent to you at no cost.
- Once we receive your returned Sample Box, you'll receive $30 store credit for your next order.
Returned samples should be securely packaged and free of contamination to ensure they can be safely evaluated for their next life.
Every returned sample is another step toward designing materials that not only perform beautifully in the built environment, but also contribute to restoring balance in the natural world.
Closing the Loop
Our Sample Takeback Program reflects the same systems-thinking that defines every MARBLIS™ surface. By recovering and recirculating samples whenever possible, we keep valuable materials in use longer, reduce unnecessary extraction, and support a circular system where every stage of a material's life contributes to a healthier relationship between people and the planet.
