Urchinite™ backsplashes are offered in large-format slabs designed to adapt seamlessly across kitchen, bath, and custom fabrication contexts. Available in ⅜ -inch thicknesses, and a range of sizing options—these slabs provide designers with the flexibility to create continuous surfaces, dramatic statement installations, and reduced seam lines. Finished with a refined Honed matte surface, Urchinite™ slabs deliver both visual elegance and functional durability, ideal for countertops, island surfaces, backsplashes, and integrated design compositions that demand seamless material flow.
Urchinite slabs are made-to-order, handcrafted in California, and made with biocalcites, a natural mineral derived from purple sea urchin shells that are harvested seasonally from kelp restoration sites. Each piece is crafted from seasonal harvest, so availability is limited and no two pieces are exactly alike. Color and pattern variation is inherent to the material and unique to each piece. Each item is made to order, so please allow 12-18 weeks for production.
